Yeah, I know I haven't been posting much lately, but I'm a bit stuck.
OK, this is about my sims 2 stories.
First of all, I've decided to "close" my Pleasantview. Why? First of all, it's becoming overcrowded. Early on I enjoyed having big, extended families. Yes, I could add other sub neighborhoods, but that leads to problem 2. The neighborhood is laggy, slow to load, and occasionally freezes the game. Problem 3 is part of problem 1. My main story family, the Hillbillies, is now at 40 members after Colin's wife had twin girls. There are too many characters to keep track of. I have 2 stories going, and it becomes where you need to have something happen in one story, it will most likely affect the other.
Initially, I was just going to save Maya and a handful of other college students. Then I started getting sad about a couple of my other simmies. Then, when I thought about "ending it" for Antara, who I've raised from birth, I nearly started crying.
Essentially, what I have planned is my Sim world (except for a couple of places that I've decided are either on other planets or in other dimensions) is going to end, a la "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" (darn those Vogons :p ). Antara, Beau, and their children will be rescued by a good witch (another sim and one of his children will survive by a run-in with a bad witch). Meanwhile, Maya and a small group of my sims will have been "kidnapped" by a group of alien "collectors" and taken to a new world to start a new population while the aliens "observe" and "comment" (a bit like Meerkat Manor type observations). Technically, all of the townies and NPCs are "rescues".
And herein lies the problem.
I have 2 ways to go:
1. Maya and friends are brought to a new world, where "collectors" had already began populating with small numbers of people who have skills. This new world is basically like a pioneer type land - living in primitive housing, no power, everyone is in "survival" mode (though the aliens have emergency stores that they will release when necessary).
2. Maya and friends are brought to a "pre-fab" world. The aliens have set up a city for the Sims full of "cookie cutter" pre-fab homes. Sort of like they were plunked into a 1950's type world, but everyone there has been taken from the planet that was destroyed.
I just don't know which way to go.
